Is it possible to control a robot without line-of-sight through walls? If so, my guess was the solution would be using an RF transmitter, in which case which are recommended?

Yes, it is possible! You could use RF transceivers, Wifi modules or even Bluetooth modules (depending on the range you need to cover), you can find all of these in the
Data Telemetry section of the store. Some good options:
- Communication distance: 1,000m (open space)
- Communication distance: 350 - 480m
- Communication distance: Up to 60m
- Communication distance: 20 - 30m in free space
