Connection issue from AL5 Arm project not SC32 Servo project

Hello,
I am new to FlowBotics. Just got my AL5D with the SSC-32U board fully assembled and was able to connect from FlowBotics’ (version 3.0.4 Bluebird) SC32 Servo Sequencer project, using RS232 to USB cable. FlowBotics found/connected to comm4 at 9600 baud and all servo test works.

My issue is when I launch FlowBotics’ AL5 Arm project, select Auto it does not find my AL5D (I have waited more than 10 minutes).
Even when I start AL5 Arm project after restart PC (without running SC32 Servo Sequencer project first) it still cannot find my AL5D.

However, when I click on the bluetooth icon, few seconds later, then AL5 Arm project found my AL5D.
I known my PC does not have bluetooth and have confirmed that after it was Found after above step, if I disconnect the USB cable from PC, then Found indicator is off and servo control no longer possible.

Is this normal?

Thanks

i had the same issue and coulnd connect my arm for awhile. i recommend trying the different settings and seeing which one works best.
Happy Programming!

Hi,

Due to a bug in the AL5 arm project / FlowArm project, the Bluetooth icon must be active (blue) to connect at 9600 baud rate.

Please see the attached image as a reference.

You can also change the default baud rate of the SSC-32U to 115200 if you wish by used the “Baud” button next to the “Bee socket”. The procedure is described at the bottom of page 37 of the SSC-32U manual. If you perform this change then the AL5 arm project will connect to the SSC-32U without the Bluetooth being active (blue).

Please note that changing the baud rate to anything other than 9600 will make it unable to use Bee adapters (like Bluetooth Bees) without changing their baud rate also (usually they default to 9600).

Sincerely,
