Connecting wire to Robot Rover Motors

I’m looking for a suggestions for connecting wires to tabs on the motors that come with the Robot Rover Kit. I believe they are GM9’s. I know I could just solder the wires to the tabs, but could I also use connectors?

I’m looking at the Female Spade connectors available from Action-Electronics.com at action-electronics.com/terminal.htm?zoom_highlight=connectors.

Does the fact that there is a hole in the tabs suggest ring connectors?

Thanks for any advice.

just as an FYI, got my Omni this morning, the instruction video tells you to quarter the wire, unfortunately they are not to short :frowning:

I just soldered them … low heat, that plastic housing is awfully close

Hi Dennis,

The flat female spade connectors should work as well. The tabs on the motors are fairly small, and the site you sent sells them in packs of 100. You may be able to find a more appropriate connector at your local hardware or electronics store. The hole in the tabs is o give you connection options (for example, before soldering, you could run the wire through the hole, or if you want to use alligator clips, it gives them more to hold onto.

Hope this helps,
