Connecting Sharp IR sensor to the SSC-32 board

I have my basic AL5D robotic arm working, and now I want to add sensors.

A beginner question…

The sharp IR range sensor comes with a 3-wire cable with three pins. The SSC board has a block of analog inputs, but they are lined up in pairs. Where do I plug in the sensor?

So I connect black to the -ve pin and red to the +ve pin and the yellow data wire to the A pin.

When adding three pin sensors, does it matter which positive and grnd pins I choose on the board? That is, could I choose a grnd on the block of pins used for servos?
