CNC Skapeoko - 65mm or 69mm router, what exactly do I need to buy? what is the kit missing for a 3d mill start?

Hi!

I require your help regarding a new purchase:

I am buying my first CNC machine but in Europe it does not include the router? There are 2 options 65mm/69mm?
Makito I believe is a good option? - what is the exact product so i know i am purchasing something compatible? Also what are your recommendations 65mm vs 69mm?

What else will i need in addition to what is included in the starter kit for 3d miling?
What are extraction product recommendations?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @Amandacal,

The stock mount accepts DeWalt DWP611 and D2620 routers — the extra letters/numbers at the end simply indicate specific accessory bundles — so any unit which is 69mm in diameter will work.

Please note, however, we are standardizing on 65mm trim routers such as our Carbide Compact Router (which is unfortunately only available as 110V) or Makita RT0701/0700 (the latter as noted at the link above is the 220V variant).

We would recommend sourcing a Makita RT0700 instead of the DeWalt.

You will not need any more parts to get started but there are some accessories you might be interested in, you can find them on this link:

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

On my DIY shapeoko based CNC mill I mounted one of those.
