I am making a robot that needs a kermillion custom parts and I have like no money. I have seen the reprap machine, and am interested.

(whats the difference between a reprap and a makerbot?)
I have also seen a manual one that looks modifiable, but not as user friendly, for much more money.
Any suggestions?
Well, the reprap is a lot
Well, the reprap is a lot bigger than the makerbot cupcake CNC but both are rapid prototypers.
If you or your dad has a drill press and you are willing to take the time to make your cuts as accurate and neat as possible, then a diy CNC is definitely doable. A drill press isnt necessary but it sure makes things easier. Check out some of the desktop CNC designs around and what the benefits of different design styles are. Then see what stuff you can get locally and start doing some drawings. Check out tinheads CNC here too, valkyrie and beast.

If you
re gonna diy, keep it small and rigid and don`t expect to cut anything harder than aluminium at best.
I should really do something with mine, I just need to add motor mounts next.
It’s a 3d printer that can

Do you think I could use reprap’s control system to control a 3 axis drill press?
