Closed loop interface : which actuators ? which controls?

Hi,

My name is Julien and I work on project about the development of new interfaces for gesture. I would like to use an actuator to control a 1 dof controller position. My problem is that I need a high bandwith like 2 KHz, with a linear displacement of 3 cm and 100 N of peak forces.

Can you help me to find the more adapted actuator and its control ?

Welcome to the RobotShop forum. Finding an actuator with such a small stroke and such a high force is not easy, as there are not many applications which would need it. You would have a greater choice if you broadened your search to include linear actuators with a higher stroke (20mm, 30mm etc.) but only used the actuator within 3mm of the default position. Unfortunately as you might suspect, this does considerably decrease the accuracy. The Firgelli Tech actuators each displace up to 45N peak, while the ServoCity actuators are very powerful. There are several Firgelli Automations actuators that offer position feedback as well.
