What accessories and controller do we need to make it a fully functional robot that can be controlled to move around and pick up objects like pennies, balls, nails etc and drop them in a jar quickly?
The VEX Clawbot ideally needs the VEX Cortex System Bundle, VEX Battery and charger.
Alternatively for pure remote control you can use the VEX RC Remote, Signal Splitter and battery and charger above.
Will the product work with our own R/C that we built for a drone?
Yes, but take note of the following:
The ClawBot uses three continuous rotation DC gear motors and the speed controllers (which connect to a normal RC output) are included.
The claw however is a 2-wire which cannot connect to your RC receiver, though we do sell DC motor controllers with RC input (non VEX), or purchase an additional VEX servo.
Note that the motors can easily draw around 1A each, so your receiver will need to be able to handle around 3-4A.
VEX does not really support integrating products from other manufacturers with the VEX EDR lineup, and to ensure proper functioning suggest that customers only use VEX parts.
