Circuit Board help

Hi

Im quite new to robotics and i was wondering what components are actually
needed in your average circuit board. The only robot i have made is a version of "little 8"
and i made that using a pre built motor board. How would i go about constructing one
myself?

Thanks in advance. Jonathan Cooper.

hello iam not an expert but
hello iam not an expert but as far as i know you will need to buy the "motherboard" a microcontroller a battery pack and couple of motors. .now you can buy alot of different sensors and make a quite good robot

Thanks but
I was looking for more what i would do if i was to start from scratch, make my own board for instance.

For the average circuit

For the average circuit board, I’ve used various sized resisotors(20 Ohm - 100k Ohm), transisotors(3904/3906), diodes(1n4148, 4004), capacitors(.22mf-470mf), and LED’s(red, blue, green).

Thats a list of basic components that you’d most likely need if you were going to build something. Other more advanced components that you’d most likely use are also voltage regulators, motor drivers, and other ic’s(555, 74xxxx, 741). These ususally need one or more of the first list of components to work.

You’ll also need a board to build on, and tools, soldering iron, solder, etc.

I highly recommend this site as it has a lot of great info on learning about the above mentioned stuff

Thanks very much!
thats perfect  kudos to you!

Interesting site, but I
Interesting site, but I wouldn’t say it’s best for a newbie…

Thanks again
Thanks to the both of you. Ill take a look.
