Chopstick Junior's last minutes

This is the sad story about the end of the lovely Chopstick Junior. His life ended much to early. I will miss him and his funny moves especially when he lighted up my way in the darkness.

But everything has an end....this came sudden and it was my fault. The only thing I can do is to keep him in my mind and heart, only this keeps his spirit alive.

You may wonder what I am talking about...and yes i will tell you now.

During the last Insect bot workshop I showed off Chopstick Junior to tell some kids what they can do with basic material and components. This may have causes an undetected injury on one of Chopstick Junior's leg. While he did not show his pain he performed his movements very well, did not let the kids know that he was in pain.

One week resting on my shelf did not cure the broken leg servo since I did not know too. He never told me that he needs surgery, maybe he knew that I was very busy.

Sitting on the self did not help and even i took him to put him in my camera bag at Sunday he did not complain. Waiting for his show which turns out as his last one.

Never trust women! Thinking he is protected by his cuteness he was very much mistaken. Limping away from the danger he saw but it was to late. Grabbed by strong hands, teared his already broken legs and then dangle betweend thumb and index finger sacared what comes next. Yeah, the next thing he remembers was this big mouth very close to him trying to eat him up.

I just got the chance to get this, his last moments, banned on my camera's memory card. I will keep him in mind and build another one...one with more reliable servos, better obstacle avoidance and higher speed. Please see the photos but be aware it's not for the frayed nerves.

Bye, bye my friends. I think that's my last breath. If there any parts left, i will donate them for another one like me. Don't forget me...argggggg

Thank you guys, i am very

Thank you guys, i am very touched. But as I said in the shout box yesterday…Chopstick Junio is very much alive…just the broken servo and the model are true.

@OddBot: Haha, we are very serious photographers…not conservative but business is business ;-)

@basile: Well, as I said in the shout box, he is still alive and waiting for the next hot shooting…i need to put a heatsink on him for that

@Gareth: Well spoken Gareth, appreciate that  -> for the revive part. Wiht the 130 volts which powers the EL wire it would be possible …  but have to reduce the frequency to match the heart beat rate…1000Hz is a bit too much
