Choosing between mBot Ranger and DFRobotShop Rover V2

I’m a professional programmer with minor electronics knowledge. I want to start experimenting seriously with robotics. My price range to start is around $200. Which of these two kits do you think would be better?

mBot Ranger or DFRobotShop Rover V2?

Hi pitosalas,

The mBot Ranger will give you more out of the box with sensors and a variety of configuration.
mBot Ranger 3-in-1 Transformable STEM Educational Robot Kit

However, the DFRobotShop Rover is a standard Arduino with standard header which mean you can use any Arduino compatible shields on it.
This might give you more options in the future as the mBot require custom sensor and cables to work.
