Choosing an appropriate Wheel

Hello,

I am planning on buying the following three motors, and would like to know what are some suitable wheels for their shafts (wheel diameter of at least 30 mm, shaft of 6-8 mm):

robotshop.com/solarbotics-gm8-gear-motor-8-offset.html (GM8 - Gear Motor 8 - Offset Shaft)

robotshop.com/spur-gear-motor-pg12-100p-45rpm.html (6-12V, 45RPM 100:1 Spur Gear Motor)

robotshop.com/cytron-12v-58rpm-36oz-in-spur-gearmotor.html (Cytron 12V 58RPM 36oz-in Spur Gearmotor)

For the GM8, the description states that it is “compatible with the Wheel Watcher Rotation Encoder”. Does this mean that this motor can only work with this particular wheel, or can it also be used with Pololu wheels?

This set of wheels seems to be a good fit for the motors: robotshop.com/ban-132-green-wheel-6.html

However, before I buy, I would like to verify if this wheel is indeed a good choice for these particular motors. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

The GM8 has a particular shaft, which is best suited for RB-Sbo-59 (and other colors). The wheel watcher encoder is optional but only works with that wheel. Pololu wheels have a different inner diameter, so most are not compatible. For small gear motors like the GM series, it’s safest to consider wheels which are from the same supplier as the motor (for example Tamiya wheels with Tamiya gear motors, SolarBotics wheels with Solarbotics motors etc).

RB-Sct-182 and RB-Cyt-32 both have a 6mm shaft so you can connect to any hub / wheel with a 6mm bore. The Banebots series 80 wheels are a good choice, and several diameters are available.
