Cheap scope

Hi guys,

I just bumped into this small cheap scope. No idea about the quallity it looks like a cool tool for us robot builders.
Have a look: DSO nano

What do yah think?

Hi Xan,

Looks interesting, but probably not something I would need.

As you know I however do really like my logic analyzer: sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8938 and I keep trying to remember to order a couple of wiring harnesses for it, so I can leave a few of them hooked up. Used it just yesterday to diagnose what is going on with the robo-claw motor controller.

But of course the Salaea Logic analyzer does not help out on analog issues, where that might come in handy. For that I have the Parallax USB Oscilloscope. There are probably much better ones out there than the one I have, but so far it gets me by. I don’t use it very often anymore but did use it Sunday to verify the signals that were produced by the encoders on my tri-track. You can see outputs for both the logic analyzer and Parallax scope in the thread: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6205&start=15. In this case it helped that the scope had two channels, although I could have done each one separately. Likewise I do like having them be PC based as when I do find a problem I can share the results.

One thing I keep meaning to try is the SOR Scope program as I do have an Axon2 board. You can see more details about this up at: societyofrobots.com/sor_scope.shtml….

Not sure if that helps.

Wow! Nice! It’s perfect for bot builders. Most of what we use are lower frequency signals and there is no need for a $2000 - $5000 scope that is capable of 1 or 2 GHz range. This device would be great to see if sensors are working, if boards are talking, or just checking signals.

Very nice find. I need to visit SparkFun more often.
