I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.
Description:
Cat Sensor Fault message continuously come back after about 2 or 3 days of proper function (I have to Power OFF / Power ON the robot). This Robot was reconditionned by Roboshop, and since I bought it, I meet this problem. When occuring, the RED led is flashing, and sometimes the robot is stopping during a cycle (and never start again to turn).
Got sometimes another error message : “Bonnet is removed” (and of course that’s not the case)
Hardware concerned:
Litter Robot 3 - Connect
Software concerned:
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
Already opened a ticket when received, and support has noticed me to pay attention about the fact that the robot should not touch anything (back and sides) and that’s the case.
Additional information:
That means that this robot is unusable in normal conditions, and I’m clearly disappointed.
The litter is above the fill line or in excess of 10lbs.
CATS has not been reset after adding weight
The waste drawer has too much weight
The unit is sitting on an uneven surface ‐ grout lines on a tile floor or in a bathtub.
The unit is pushed into a corner, against a wall, or furniture
Objects are resting or pressing on the unit
The red blinking light indicates CATS (the cat sensor) is detecting excess weight for more than 2 minutes. To test your changes, power the unit off and then on. Allow the unit to complete the start‐up cycle and return Home with a solid blue light. Your unit is operating normally. If it continues to flash, let us know so we can troubleshoot further.
Always press Reset after emptying the waste drawer, adding litter, or moving the unit. You can also turn the unit OFF then ON to ensure the baseline is set properly. When pressing Reset, watch for the blue light to quickly flash one time. This indicates CATS has been successfully reset.
If none of the above solves the issue:
Remove the bonnet.
Remove the globe
Replace the bonnet
Press Cycle (without the globe on the unit)
Allow the motor to run for 5 seconds, at any point, does it stop and flash red? If no, then excess weight needs to be removed from the globe. If yes, (it blinks red), your unit will need to be repaired.
Please respond to this message and let us know the results.
Long time ago I’ve not replyed to this topic because when I read your reply, I have disassembled the unit, then reassembled and the main problem has disappeared. However, sometimes (and regurarly) I receive the well-known message “Cat Sensor Fault” on my smartphone (and there is absolutely no reason for that, the unit is not in touch with a wall or something else, the level of litter is correct, everything has been reseted after each filling…). However, it was running correctly so… not a big trouble.
This being, since this evening I have a new problem - and obviously it’s certainly linked with my problems since the all first day I have set up this robot (it has NEVER ran correctly !), that’s why I haven’t created a new topic - now the CYCLING led keeps coutinuously ON.
I have tried everything : reset, cycling (that is operating when I push the button !), unplug the power unit, then plug it again 1 minute later, emptying the unit, removing bonnet… this LED is ON from the power-on and keeps ON.
In despite the Cycling is keeping running correctly, the Cat sensor seems totally inoperating. Every droppings from my cats are keeping in the litter and the robot is not cycling anymore.
Thank you for your valued help (as now it’s a critical problem for me )
Yes, there are two LED on, the blue one and the “cycle” yellow one (instead of the blue one only).
The yellow one is on as soon as the robot is powered on, and will keep on constantly.
In Sleep Mode, the yellow light will be on in addition to the blue standby light. The Cat Sensor will be deactivated for the next 8 hours and the unit will only cycle if you press the Cycle button.
Immediately after the 8-hour period, the unit will perform a Clean cycle, then return to the Home position with the blue light on. The Cat Sensor will be active again.
Once set, the 8-hour period repeats every 24 hours. The start of the period is determined by when the mode is set initially.
To exit this mode, press and hold the Cycle button until the yellow light turns off, or, if only the blue light is on (you are not within the 8-hour sleep period), the yellow light will flash to indicate you have exited this mode.
That’s obviously the root cause to my problem, many thanks for this answer ! I’ve desactivated the Sleep Mode and since, the robot litter is running properly again (and I hope, for a long time… )
