Can I use RPLidar A2 with 90 degrees upright attitude?

Hi, I’m considering using RPLidar A2 sensor with 90degrees upright attitude.

I mean the sensor rotation direction is not horizontal but vertical.

I’m not sure usage like this is permitted.

Does someone have any informations about this?

Any help will appreciate.

Hi,

We’ve confirmed before with the manufacturer that the device can be used upside down and sideways. That being said, the sideways position may cause a bit more vibration than would normally be present in the device.

Of course, since the device is meant to be used horizontally, you may also get a bit more wear & tear on the moving parts, too, since the weight will not be balanced as it would be on those parts normally. That being said, it should still be minimal and not cause any major issue.
