Can anyone recommend me an UAV?

Hello,
I would like to buy an UAV. And I want to use raspberry pi to interface with it. I want to use the raspberry pi to capture images and analyze the images, and then get a required speed command, then raspberry pi send this required speed to UAV, using UAV’s original controller to realized the required speed. I need to stablize raspberry oi and pi camera on it. So the payload should be enough. I also want the size of the UAV almost be same with my palm. Does anyone have good idea? Thanks!

Hi zhanghaijason,

One of the option would be to go for a Raspberry Pi based flight controller and the Navio2 is exactly that.
But only with that, you are exceeding the “palm size” of your requirements which do not seems possible with all the electronics needed.

Hi DiaLFonZo,
Thanks for your reply. I have browsed the page and googled it. But I am new to UAV, could you answer me more questions? 1. Do I need t buy the blades, motors and the other things related to UAV? I think yes. Is there a tutorial or guidance what I need and how to assemble it? 2. Is the library open source? 3. what I wan to do is first let the UAV hover in the sky, and use raspberry pi to control it land on the ground safely. In the landing process, all UAV is controlled by raspberry, not the transmitter. Is it possible to realize the “controller transition”?
Thanks

The Navio is only the flight controller part of the UAV.
You still need many items to create a custom UAV frame and a lot to learn before being able to do the kind of project you are aiming at.

For your purpose, a flight controller with very high stability would be required so either a DJI Naza or a PixHawk which you could connect to a standard R/C controller as well as the Raspberry Pi.
Of course, the Navio2 is still a good choice since it integrate both.
