Camera Intervelometer triggered from ground distance travel

Could anyone help suggesting a camera trigger that could fire DSLR mounted to the back of a moving vehicle?
Ideally it could be adjusted to fire every metre or to metres etc. So it would need to detect movement across the ground surface at set measurements and send voltage to a 3.5mm audio socket output
Any help would be appreciated.
