Camera for particle/arduino

Hi there

I’m just getting going (after quite a few years of a break) to play with arduino and came across the particle boards. I’m quite interested automating some garden stuff and doing some time delay pics (like, once per day or week) and these meshing units seem to be quite well balanced and I find the xenon boards to run quite well off a solar panel and 2000maH battery.

I am seeking advice from someone wiser and more experienced than myself about:

  1. there’s a small/low cost camera that would be appropriate for close range shots (only a few inches)
  2. Can a argon/boron/xenon board with specs like this be able to handle capturing and uploading/emailing the pictures.
  3. Maybe this should be the first question… if there’s any projects out there that may be a good example to follow I would appreciate it immensly. While I’m not a complete foreigner to coding it’s been a while and I am comfortable saying I can code myself into a pretty good mess on the best of days…generally cutting/pasting example material to get the job done in a far less than graceful method.

A million thanks in advance!
