Building a Hand crank Generator for charging Phone

I’m attempting to build a hand crank generator to charge my iphone and am wondering about the type of motor i would need. Based off what i’m reading on how to charge my iphone, i would need ~5V, 1amp, 5Watts to get a good charge. At a minimum, i’d want 5V, 0.5amp, 2.5Watts to replicate a PC USB.

This is the motor i am looking at for starters because of the high gear ratio, but to be honest, my knowledge of all this is very new and i’m using google as my teacher. robotshop.com/en/12v-26rpm-1 … coder.html

This is also just a start mind you… I understand i will need to look into the battery, voltage regulator, and other circuit to make it functional and no risk of blowing up my phone. Thanks

Unfortunately we really don’t offer any generator type motors; all of the actuators we offer are meant to be used to drive loads rather than be driven to generate electricity.
As such we have no data at all as to what electricity they can provide when brack-driven, let alone the efficiency.
Sorry we can’t help more. Perhaps the general community here will be able to offer some insight.

I understand. Thank you for your response.
