The sata controller i believe is built into the mainboard, the data cable is for…well…Data transfer of course, and the power cable apply’s power to the hard drive.

Here is the power cable :

So i dont need the rest of that…welll…crap?

Well, you do need the power cable and the data cable, just not the controller

So which is the data cable?

This is the Data cable.

Alright to that power cable and the Data cable will enable me to use that hardrive, sounds good. All I need to do now is pick out a new audiocard and RAM and im good to go

MattPower, I found a great soundblaster soundcard for only $19.99! Thanks for the tip, im sure it will work better than integrated.

Is this memory compatible with my computer system?

2GB for a good price.

NO

DDR2 is 240 pin and DDR is 184. In short you still need to look at DDR

Thanks.

I ordered everything and it should be here before 6 weeks! Very close to having that new computer  This project might still give me something to do since my LM order is still pending

Hey,don’t i get a thank’s? :stuck_out_tongue:

this was to everyone who posted advice :stuck_out_tongue:

you ordered already?

I was going to tell you to get at least a 450watt PSU (power supply unit) because if you plan to use any kind of high speed graphics card, it requires a PSU that can handle the extra load. More is better with PSUs.

My Compaq has a 300 watt PSU and I can’t use any of the higher end Graphics cards with this low watt PSU. Most Cards require a minimum of 350watt, but that’s still to low. You going with 8x AGP? or PCI-E?

Also low latency memory is a good idea also.

hehe, way ahead of you Mike! I got a 480 Watt power supply Unit specially for Gaming and graphic cards which guzzle a lot of juice.

It seems pretty good by the specs however, looking at it I only see a few USB and Audio ports on the back of it. If you are to purchase it and need to use it for robotics, I’d suggest getting some external serial and USB ports to hook up your devices to that way these ports are free for your computer’s peripherals.

No,its not for robotics, its just for fun to build it
This computer is going to have a total of : $600.01
Oh,and it has four USB ports on it
