Brushless motor 36D 12V

Hello,

I’ve ordered an RM-Esmo-0cs bldc motor (36D 12V) and I was wondering which controller (ESC) to use with it since it’s peak current usage seems to be 1.8 A according to the specs of the motor. When doing some research, it seems that most esc are minimum 20A so I’m not sure if I could use it without a esc or if its mandatory.

You wouldn’t need an ESC for this motor as you can control it through the 5 wires coming out of its back as they are explained in the datasheet:
