Our Roomba we named Rosie has stopped cleaning our carpet after 2years. Looked and found main brush had stopped turning. Checked and cleaned brushes and bearings and were fine. Checked gears in main brush gear and found one stripped. Replaced main brush motor and brushes are turning good now but after a few minutes quits brush stops turning intermittantly and rosie stops and beeps once. Any help with issue would be greatly appreciated. Was wondering if motherboard could command motor off possibly?
Hi Vayvazyan,
Thank you so much for your response. I did replace the main brush motor w/gearbox new from the robotshop, I also had inspected the gears in the side case which seemed fine. I hope that might give you some better info far as what has been done. Again we appreciate very much your help.
Thank you!
TSmith
Good Morning TSmith,
When the robot stops and gives the one beep, that means the main brushes have stalled. It seems something is still not working properly with the motor/gearing.
When you say you found one of the gears stripped, were they the gears in the side of the casing (the ones that the square pegs of the brushes fit into), or were they the gears in the motor’s gearbox? As well, when you replaced the motor, was it just the motor, or had you changed the motor w/gearbox?
Looking forward to your reply.
