Breakout board issue

Received and tested a few items such as a compass and tested a basic led. Used WiringPi library. The blinking led worked then tried the gps sensor an i2c but on the brakeout board connected to a regular prototype board which also came with kit it did not work no connection. The gpio returned no devices found so I disconnected the breakout board and cable I then connected the pins from sensor directly to the Pi header and this worked. connected the breakout board and tested a sonar with a URAT connecxtion used minicom for this test but nothing. I don’t have a female on both ends currently so I can’t test this one on the Pi header. I ran the the gpiotest tool that is part of the WiringPI and it returned everything is OK. I then decided to test the blinking led again and this time its not working. I am thinking I need to return this item It’s defective. Anyone experienced anything like this?

Hi @jsinicro

Which breakout board are you using?
Can you please send a picture of your setup?

Right now, it is pretty difficult to understand if there’s something wrong with the product.

HI, Thankyou for your reply. I need to retest the above because I found out I had the RX reversed with the TX on the maxsonar sensor and I replaced the flashing led with a new one and that worked on the breadboard with jumper wires straight out of the Pi header. I will do the same test using the brkout board. Not sure how the led burned out as the new one works. I’ll let you know shortly. I don’t see an option to insert pictures here

I must of had something not configured right everything is working with the breakout board
