I was thinking of adding a Scout base to my BRAT and was wondering if the 485 servos would be able to accommodate the weight of the base and two extra servos for the hips. If not can the hip servos be lower torque since they don’t do much lifting just rotating the body forward.
Thanks. What’s the minimum servo torque for the legs with the added weight of about 0.395 pounds? (The weight of the torso and two servos based on the information from the site)
422 stocker. Can walk but not much else.
485 upgrade. Can walk well and do some acrobatics.
645 upgrade. Can easily support an additional pound of payload. (our BRAT Mech)
I do not know if the 485’s can handle the almost half pound weight addition.
Ok, I think it might work because each hip would be supporting the body minus the leg it’s attached to and if I’m calculating it right that should be a little under the weight of a typical BRAT (including electronics + base)
Only way to know is to try and find out right? So I’ll give it a shot once I get my set of 645s.
