I am attempting to create several BRAT robots so that we can play a “laser tag” type game. I understand that there is a company that already has the laser weapon system already fabricated. Will someone please assist me with the website. I also need some direction with the light detection sensor so that I can keep score.
Thanks in advance.
Hi and Welcome!
I got my airsoft guns from www.toyeast.com. I know they have the IR version because I ended up with some of them by accident due to an incorrect link on the mech warfare website.

Thank you. What about a light firing and sensor system like laser tag?
I don’t know what else from the tanks could be used. I.e. IR receivers, PC boards etc. It’s gotta be easier to just do it all with the atom. I believe you can use simple IR receivers to receive the pulses from the guns. I assume the guns are just the IR LED’s and there are no other signal generating or signal conditioning components involved. Not even sure if the LED current dropping resistor is in it.
It’s pretty safe to assume the Atom Pro can easily take care of the modulation of the IR LED’s with a sound or pulse stream command, and even monitor an IR receiver to know if it’s been hit. Some research will be required here. This is not rocket science. We can figure it out.
Now that I think about it those guns aren’t really needed. They have a motor inside that simulates recoil, so they are a sort of a waste. I would just stick an IR LED inside a small aluminum tube to get the focus down. Set up an IR receiver on another Atom Pro then experiment to see what sort of range is achievable.
