Bot Board Faulty?

I have a brand new bot board, for the autonomous rover, with the 28 pin atom in it. I built it all and wired it up, charged the batteries and seemed set to go. when i flick the logic power on however, i get a green power light for a second, then a red light (A) comes on, followed by the speakers clicking twice. then the other two lights (B and C) come on, and the speaker starts beeping continuously, 2-3 times a second. when i plugged the board into my usb-serial cable and tried to connect, the beeping stopped and most of the lights went out, cept the green and red. when it didn’t connect (probably cause i have the wrong cable) it started clicking again. Any idea what’s wrong?

Sounds to me you have not tried to program the Atom yet. I belive I remember something about test programs that sometimes are left on the EEPROM.

Flashing LEDs and speaker noise is a good sign the the atom is working.

Thanks for the quick reply, no I haven’t really tested it yet…I’m new to this and as soon as it did something weird, I hit the power in hopes I wouldn’t damage it further if it was wired wrong. Thanks!

The Atom has a program on it from the factory that turns the I/O pins on and off. The speaker clicking is a good sign. Now you must download a program to the Atom for your bot.

Here is a guide to help with the programming.

Most tutorials have you remove the LED / push button interface jumpers if they are not being used. This will prevent the three LED’s from lighting if they bother you.
