Bluetooth Shield RB-Ite-12 won't connect

Greetings,

I am trying to connect my PC to an Arduino Mega 2560 using an RB-Ite-12 Bluetooth shield I purchased from Robotshop. All I need it to do is transmit my serial output from the Arduino to my PC. I am ok with the default 9600 baud rate.

i am attempting to do this with a Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter. According to what i have read it should be compatible with the V2.0+EDR that your bluetooth shield uses.

i am able to pair with the shield/bluetooth. but it doesn’t connect. when i look at the connection status in says its disconnected.

i notice that my PC mentions 2 COM ports for the bluetooth device. (COM4 and COM5). When I open Arduino I only see COM5.

I also see that the device is listed as working in the Device Manager. I don’t know why it won’t connect.

Ensure you are using the two jumpers in the right locations on the shield (to connect Tx and Rx.
It seems the default baud rate may be 38400 - try that.
