Hello my name is Mads Riisager
I have a Playstation DS3 controller, which I with Bluetooth have paired with my Desktop PC, so I can control my PC wireless.
The thing is, I also want to be able to turn on my PC with the controller, so I don’t have to crawl around under my desk.
What I want is a way to detect and determine the signal my DS3 controller sends out, and when it is detected, switch on a relay to turn on my desktop PC.
Can anyone help.
Not really sure this can be done easily. If your computer is off, then it can’t be paired with any external device. At the very least, it could be on “sleep mode”.
I didn’t mean it that way. I know then the PC is off it is turned on by pressing a button, which allows a current to flow, which the computer detects and then turns on. What I’m looking for is a device there can control a relay, so it lets a current flow. The device needs to be able to detect signals, so then I push a the start button on my controller, it will detect it and turn on the relay.
Thank you for clarifying. A relay which can handle the current required (or connected to the power switch on your computer) would likely work.
At this time we do not know if the signals from your controller have been hacked, but those of the PS2 have. As such, you can connect the PS2 receiver to a microcontroller, which is connected to a relay:

Would that be more what you envisioned?
