BlueSmirf or Xbee

Hi guys, I have read the posts regarding the two devices and would like any input as to which would be best for my application. I would like to control an SSC32 with a Bot Board and have wireless serial between them for servo control only. I do not need alot of distance, maybe 30ft at most with maybe some plywood and electronics in between. Again, any info or experiance would be helpfull.

Thanks!

For your application, either would work fine.

The BlueSmirf that I’m familiar with requires a PC (w/ USB) on one end. I don’t know about the XBee.

There are USB carriers for XBee available from SparkFun. There are also BlueSmirf modules that do not require a standard serial port and/or allow for both RS-232 and TTL level signals.

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to go with 2x Xbee 1mw chip antenna and the carrier boards from SF.

Did you go with the Xbee? If so how did it work?
