Blue light keeps flashing, even after emptying, reset and cleaning

Hi!

I have a litter robot open air 3, with recently an upgrade to WiFi.
We’ve had some serious problems with the robot for a few weeks now. The blue light keeps flashing and indicating that the drawer is full. After cycling we can manually reset it once and after the next it keeps flashing. We were away for the holidays and our sitters had to keep turning the robot him on and off, because the reset button would not work at all. It hardly cycled.

We’ve cleaned it properly, checked if the bin bag was not in front of the glass, cleaned the glasses, checked the pins that would cause errors in the past etcetera.

What is our next step?

We’ve done al the problem solving in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQeoBYxzwC4&t=1s

Hello @Pilotess ,

Welcome back to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

In this case, the DFI sensor will need to be replaced so please provide us with your order number to check your warranty.

We will also need to see the 3 pairs of contact pins shown in the following video:

No need to take them out of the robot, we only need to see them from the outside.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi Ebram,

Thank you for your ongoing support of I ask a question.

We don’t have any warranty left. So I’ll order new DFI sensors. The pins are a bit corroded. We’ve cleaned and sanded them a few times already, but I think I’ll order new ones as well just to the replace them one time. Can the pins alone cause the same error with the blue flashing light? Or is it sure that it’s the DFI sensors?

Could you link the DFI sensors and the pins for me?

Thank you.

The anti-pinch pins must be clean and not bent. Dirty or misaligned pins can cause false drawer full alerts.

Hello @Pilotess ,

Thank you for your reply.

The damaged Anti-Pinch pins would only indicate the fast blinking yellow light but the blue blinking light is always related to the DFI sensor.

In this case, we recommend replacing all the 3 sets of pins along with the DFI sensor.

Please indicate which country you are living in so we can provide you with the corresponding links.

Awaiting your reply.

Hi Ebram,

Thanks again for answering.

We only have a few slow blinking yellow errors. Not the fast one. What might that indicate?

We live in Holland, the Netherlands.

Thank you.

Hello @Pilotess ,

Thank you for your reply.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps in the attached video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0jVRoijTk0

Other steps to follow:

1-Make sure that the cable linking the night light under the bonnet is properly connected.

2-Please test if the night light is interrupting your cycle. If the night light turns on and the cycle is interrupted, then your bonnet needs to be replaced.

*To activate the night light, turn off and then on the room lights in the evening. During the day, you can create shade by covering the control panel near the power button with your hands.

3-Make sure that the 3 connectors on the circuit board are properly connected.

Lastly, please send us photos of the 2 sets of contact pins.

Awaiting your response,

Hi Ebram,

Thank you for your message.

I followed the YouTube video with all the steps. None of the steps was giving problems. Although the pins on the base are used and very slightly corroded.
The blue light is properly working. It isn’t placed next to a wall etcetera. I also checked the steps you typed. The three connectors on the circuit board are properly connected.

So, what’s our next step? My guess is the DFI sensors and new pins?

Kind regards and have a beautiful day.

Hi Ebram,

Good news. The blue light is not flashing anymore and the drawer full indicators are working. It runs smoothly again. Thank you!

We’ve had 2-3 yellow blinking light errors, but I cannot detect what’s happening them. I think it happens after there is one notification of the drawer full and we were not be able to fix it immediately. Any thoughts on that?

Kind regards
