Bipedal robots - How do they work?

Hello!

Just wondering if someone could break down the way these robots (or similar types of robots) in the video work. youtube.com/watch?v=Xlrieji_iHM

As far as I understand they all consist of a microcontroller, a couple of servo motors and brackets to hold it up. (is there anything more that is important?)

What I don’t quite understand is how each motor is functioned to make the robot move. Like for example, how are the motors keeping the robot standing…?

**So the questions are! **

What do these awesome robots consist of? ( parts )

What functionality do each (important) part serve? ( keep it simple, don’t bother writing a novel.

And how does it move/stand up? ( if this isn’t too advanced! ).

Thanks.

That’s a complex question! You have the initial parts right, just add software.
Beyond that, you need to study the balance of the 'bots. They normally do not move their center of gravity out side of their base (big feet). Therefore, they shouldn’t fall. The ‘shuffle’ different directions by little hops and slides. this is not the typical 'bot movement. The moves almost look sped-up. They’re not. Look at some of the Lynxmotion Scout robots. And of course, the 'bot can bend at at various joints, and make slight falls and catch its self.
