I’m working on a Scout project, and have alot of problems with my servos that aren’t strong enough…
Thinking about buying new and stronger ones, but the money don’t hang on the trees in Denmark
Model: Biped Scout kit
Servos: Power HD 1201MG analog servos 13kg/cm @ 6v (far from enough for a Scout )
Power: 2x Turnigy 2200mAh LiPo cells
Regulator: Turigy UBEC LiPo regulator
Servo controller: SSC-32 controller
Connection: Bluesmirf rs232 bluetooth
The LiPo solution works pretty well, but the servos don’t carry the weight that good, even if they are rated at 13kg/cm @ 6v
I had alot of problems with my servos carrying the 6DOF leg setup, so i removed one of the DOF’s in hope to get it walking, and to my big surprise it works…!!
hi. great work.
great to see another on on going scout project.
i can see how you have fitted those servos in. the bends look ok and quite nice. how did you bend them. using a vice would leave them with a nice angled bends.
i think the DOf mod looks esthetically ok but im not sure its practical. id be very interested in seeing it walk like this. you might prove me wrong. im thinking of a new design for this part so ill share with you once iv done it. bit busy at mo but ill post in in a few hours.
again nice project and great work with the power supply. 8)
Thanks for sharing your video. it walks great. will you be replacing the ASB-15 with something else. maybe make your own bracket that will incorporate the structure.
i should be ordering the parts needed to convert to 5DOF (first design) at the end of the month.
Do you plan to have the scout walk on carpet or other rough surfaces? If so, then it will be important to get the feet off the ground when taking steps.
Are the braided sleeve covered wires going to be tie wrapped to the body?
It’s nice to see some biped bots for a change vs. all those hex bots.
