Bioloid Premium Kit King Spider Problem

Hi,

Hi All,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this question but we are having a problem with our Spider and are hoping to get some advice.

We assembled our Bioloid Premium as a King Spider with the directions found on the CD that came with it (the directions can also be found online). When we run the test program which we also downloaded from the CD (and which is also downloadable online), we have a problem with 2 of the legs. They jam together (moving toward each other when it seems they should be moving apart. It seems like the motors are moving in the wrong direction (the two legs move toward eachother). We tried switching the motors and it did not help.

Any ideas or advice on what we should do to debug and fix this problem?

Thanks,

Hi all,

Thanks for your help! We went to a camp today and the person there gave us the solution to our problem. The problem was that we still had the Humanoid motion file downloaded to the robot and the King Spider task code downloaded. When the task code was running, it was reading from the Humanoid motion file and trying to do a Humanoid motion, which caused its legs to jam together. When we downloaded the King Spider motion file, it worked perfectly!

Thanks again for your help!

Hi All2Jesus,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. Are all the other motors working correctly? If yes, then it sounds like a problem with the code for that specific motor - can you check to see it was connected in the right order? Go over all the physical connections first, especially around that motor. If you cannot find the issue there, you will need to reverse the motor in the code. If you are new to programming, we suggest finding and isolating just the code for that joint and testing it. If this does not work, please post a video showing how the robot is walking (ensure it is not breaking itself apart) and we may be able to catch something. The manufacturer may also be able to help.

Sincerely,
