BillyBot was originally designed to be a cartoon character for the RoboToons cartoons … then I animated BillyBot for a few short videos as I learned that I’m still not the worlds best story teller.
But as I began learning about the PICAXE µControllers and BASIC I realized that the online help is very confusing, incomplete etc… so I decided to document and create a short library of working BASIC programs for each of the different sensors and devices I use … and even a few I don’t use … which after a few hundred pages of images, wiring diagrams, breadboard photos and complete program listings I realized I had a book that will help anybody get started in robotics or animatronics with the PICAXE µControllers.
I hope to have the book off to the publisher this month! I’m still waiting for a few components to add more complete projects like X1: BillyBot, X2: FloppyBot PING Traveler, X3: FloppyBot PING Suicide Sumo Wrestler, X4: PING HeadBot, X4: PING HeadTableBot I … maybe even some more project solutions … that include the printable part .STL files as well as wiring diagrams and program listings.
