BH3-R (18 Servo Walker) vs CH3-R (18 Servo Walker)

Hey im new and im looking to buy my frist hexapod robot and i was wondering what the differances betweeen the two are besides the look of them thanks in advance

yes this is the economy version robot

This is the stylish version

both pretty much the same, except the tibia.

Gotta love the legs!

And the Phoenix takes it a little further…

so what would u recomend ? does the economy version have any advantages

Their performance (not speaking from experience as iv not had both) would pretty much be the same. it really depends on what servos you wanted to use with it. both use the same servos so in that case. they are the same.

i would personally go for the Ah3-r… In Black

my reasons would be because lynxmotion also do a ground contact switch that can be easily added to the legs for terrain adaption. i believe code for that is still in development.

I would recommend you take a good look at the servos you buy. the HS475 (now 485) R/C servos can do it, but the more powerful HS645 servos give a better load carrying capability, and make the moves more snappy!

Don’t be mislead into buying some of the Tower cheep servos…

The length of the tibia is the real difference between the A & C versions. BTW The A version comes with 645 servos by default. The B and C come with 485 servos as default, but can be ordered with a servo upgrade to make them as strong as the AH3-R. But to answer the question, the length of the tibia effects the overall performance of the robot. The shorter the tibia the stronger the leg will be. The B version was created to be the conservative solution. The C version was created just to be “cool”. Between the B and C, these performance differences are not significant though, so you should really just get the one that you like.
