Best micro controller for beginner

Hello,

I am new to microcontrollers and i want to get a complete setup. I was looking at getting the Arduino uno board but would prefer to have a none soldered MC so i can program them and then integrate them into my projects.

I currently do not have a specific project in mind just trying to learn for now, so something easily programmable like the Ardunio would be preferred. I am also trying to learn how to setup RF systems so something that has a tutorial or similar information on RF system setup would be great.

Thanks in advance for all information.

P.S.
If this has been addressed in another thread please supply a link as i did not find it while doing a search or going through threads that sounded similar.

Hi marsniper27,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. There are many microcontrollers out on the market and it is understandably hard to pick one to start with. We have written an article to help guide you through the process which is part of the GoRobotics: How to build a robot tutorial. There is a current shortage of through-hole ATMega328 chips, so all Arduino Unos are shipped with surface mount chips. Arduino and most major manufacturers do have sample code to help you get an RF system up and running.

Hope this helps,
