I’m looking for a robot/grib combo that could put a pre roll into a plastic cone holder. And shut the cone holder. And put the cone into a mylar bag and then put the mylar bag into a sealer. Thanks

Hi @Mwhitey12 and welcome to our forum!
This sounds to me like a job for a robotic arm with a gripper.
Can you share some dimensions or some sketches of these objects you mentioned?
Thanks for getting back to me! Here is the bin of pre-rolls we’re looking to have a robot arm pick up and then put inside the tube/mylar bag. Then, put the mylar/bag tube into a sealing machine. Thanks

Hi @Mwhitey12 ,
Thank you for the photos.
To develop a robotic system for automating the packaging process of pre-rolls, you’ll need a combination of robotics and automation equipment. Here are some steps to consider in designing this system:
- Identify the Tasks: Break down the process into individual tasks:
- Placing the pre-roll into the plastic cone holder.
- Closing the cone holder.
- Inserting the cone into a mylar bag.
- Sealing the mylar bag.
- Select the Robotics:
- For precision handling, you might need a robotic arm equipped with a specialized gripper to handle the pre-rolls, cone holders, and mylar bags.
- Consider using vision systems to ensure accuracy and adapt to variances in position and orientation of items.
- Design the Automation Workflow:
- Program the robotic arm to perform each task. Your knowledge in PLC programming and robotics will be crucial here.
- Ensure synchronization between various stages using sensors and feedback loops.
- Consider Integration:
- Integrate a sealing machine that the robotic system can work with, potentially automating its activation through feedback from the robotic system.
- You’ll also need to manage timing and coordination between different steps.
- Test and Refine:
- Develop prototypes and test them to identify any issues and refine the system for efficiency and reliability.
That’s very detailed. Thank you!
