Beginner Here, Need Some Advice

Hi,

My Greeting to all of you part of this site, its awesome.

So, I am a student of Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation in India, & I would very much like to make a robot myself but i am a novice here & don't know where to start.

I have the following knowledge

1) Good Grip on C & some knowledge on C++

2) Knowledge on Basic Electronics, Analog & Digital

Do I qualify the necessary knowledge to understand & build a robot ?

Moreover, how much it will cost to build a primary robot ?

click on the start here under the LMR logo.

That is the best start. Also look at the picaxe manuals for the curcuits.

also it will cost
about $80-$100 USD

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply, appreciated.

What parts i need to buy ?

I have a Digital Multimeter, some transformers, ICs, diode, transisters etc.

I do not have a servo motor or any rechargeable battery.

Can u name some company which i will find in india for those two, also other parts.

Another question, how do I get the know people who are from West Bangal / India ?

My recommendation would be

My recommendation would be to begin by having a good look around at what projects other people are working on, and start putting together an idea of what you want out of your first robot. Once you have a basic list of the attributes and capabilities you want to include, you can start having a look at what parts you’ll need, what kind of controller, how you will approach the programming, etc.

Try not to over think at this point, and try not to aim too high; most hobby robots go through at least a few upgrades after they’re supposedly ‘finished’.

Thanks for your advice.

Thanks a lot for your kind advice.

At present, i need a robot which will move to other way when it gets any barrier in its way.

Just a simple basic Robot. What parts do i need ? Also, I am a student, i don’t entitle for a credit card, i can’t buy things online.

so, where shall i start ?

thanks again.

The START HERE robot is a good place to start, but if you have to buy everything local good luck in finding a PIC in a local electronics shop.
