We are currently shipping the Bot Board II. It’s predecessor was the Mini-ABB, (Mini Atom Bot Board) so no worries eh?
So, just to clarify. To get the newer Bot Board II, do I order an ABB-01, or is there another part# that I need to use?
…I agree Mafin…Would it be SO hard to add a note to the item description that it is now the II version that is shipping? That means that i put all the PS2 controller plugs in different spots right?
…So the Bot Board II with a Basic Atom PRO 24 or 28 WILL take the PS2 controller function WITHOUT any extra mods?
…I do apologise for my rantiness…I just dont see why it has to be so hard to get ‘correct’ and up to date information…Especially for a noob(s) that might not even know what a ‘1K pull-up’ is!!!
…Is it also safe to presume that the USB to serial issues have been fixed or is getting a cable that will work still a hit and miss affair?

Nope, it’s not hard. We will make the changes. Yes the Bot Board II puts the PS2 port in a different place.

Yes, that is correct.

What’s so difficult? You asked about something that confused you, and we replied in a prompt manor. We will also make the apropriate changes to the website so no one else is confused. We have a lot going on and we are doing our best.

What USB to serial issues? I know of no ongoing unsolved problems with this. Trick is to use name-brand cables like IOGear, BAFO, or Startech. We are adding a tutorial soon illustrating how easy it is to install a serial port card into a new USB-only desktop pc. It’s actually very easy and inexpensive. I think you need to relax a bit. We are here to help you in whatever way you need. Is that not good enough?
Bot Board II website information updated. I still need to update the PDF manual. Will try to get it done today.
Jim, when was the BBII released? I think I have the Mini-ABB, but the product pic of the BBII on your .com site still has the PCB marked “Mini-BB.” Are the BBII still silk screened with “Mini-ABB?”
Can’t wait for an updated manual, curious to see what’s the difference between the BBII and its predecessor…

It’s been released for a few weeks. The manual we ship has the changes in it. It’s just the PDF on the website that needs to be updated. The silk screen says Bot Board II on the new boards. I will try and get the PDF updated today.
Bot Board PDF manual and test program for the Basic Atom 28 is up on the website. Funny thing is we did all the work before, and were just waiting for them to be released to change the links. We just goofed. Sorry…
Jim, the link for the bb2 manual doesn’t work, I keep getting a 404…

Whoops… I though I checked this yesterday. Well anyway it’s been fixed. Sorry for the trouble.
