Hi; I have the omega spy drone, an entry level drone and do plan on upgrading when I am proficient at flying it. In the mean time I get 7 minutes of battery life, using the stock battery that came with drone. The battery has separate charge/power lines. Two wires with the Orange plug go to drone power, and two wires with white plug goes to recharge. Not sure if this means anything but thought it worth mentioning. Now then, can I upgrade my battery for this machine, and if so how large capacity can I get, and at what price? The battery is described here: 3.7V 850mAh Li-Po rechargeable. battery. I would like to get 20 minute charge if possible, and will probably buy two, but will await your advise on do-ability first. I am also concerned about the upgraded battery If I can get at all, whether or not it will fit inside the battery compartment, and whether the mini plugs on the battery will match the receiver port. Thanks for any help you may be able to offer. I remain with,
Warmest wishes,

Usually, batteries are selected by manufacturer to be at peak efficiency between Capacity and Weight for the specific drone.
Increasing the capacity will increase the weight at the same time and the drone will have to work harder to stay in air so drawing more power to the battery which might result in equal to less flight time in the end.
The best with those drones is to get a few of the original batteries and replace them.

AH, good answer!!! Never thought about the effect of heavier batteries on the avionics issue. The best I can do is as you say, I think, and I will grab five or six extra original batteries. This will allow for longer flight times, but extra landings to change out battery. Thank you DiaLFonZo, greatly appreciated!!

No problem, if anything you can still ask us…
Definitely, thanks!!!

There are many drone battery brand in the market including Tattu , Bonka,Multistar / Turnigy / Zippy / Graphene, SMC, Dronelabs, Ready MadeRC, ThunderPower, Floureon, Venom, Pulse , E-flite etc. Which one?
