Batteries for Dagu Rover 5 (4WD)

Hi all,

I am beginner, and I have a robot project with there devices:

 - Dagu Rover 5 (4WD) 

 - Dagu 4 Channel 5-12V, 2A Brushed DC Motor Controller

 - ARDUINO MEGA 2560

 - Batteries pack : 6 x 1,2v Nimh

Could i use only one batteries pack for all the robot ? Are there any precautions i need to take to be safe ?

ARDUNIO: input Voltage (recommended) 7-12V

Use a 5V regulated pin of the arduino for the Dagu motor controller for 5V logic 

And the 7,2 power directly connect to the Dagu motor controller for motors power supply

I think to use a batterie 7,2V 5000mA NiMh for RC cars. Its’s more easy for recharging.

Do you think that i can use a “relay” commanded by the arduino for switch on/off the motor Power ? it is usefull ?

If yes, what kind of relay you recommend to me ?
