I wanted to ask you if there are any free internet sources where we can learn programming the BS2 Microcontroller. (basic+advanced programming)

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. Parallax is actually well known for their educational materials and courses and they offer quite a lot of material free of charge. RobotShop offers as much information within a product description as possible, and suggest one of the Basic Stamp 2 microcontroller kits, which includes text to help you get started. For additional material and tutorials, as well as registering for an online course (if there are any planned in the near future), we suggest you visit the Parallax homepage and visit the “Education” section.
