i need help
i just got the basic atom and it was working when i first
got it and thats when it didn’t work! 
i built my own 4wd rover and it is suppost to be controlled
by the ps2 remote but i wont recieve any signals
i tried all the programs avalible (and i even wrote my own)
but it still wont work
so if you have any answors then please tell me 
The same thing happened to me too. I got it to work after I pushed it in a little more and ran a scan to see if it detected it. I also realised that I had downloaded the beta version of it. If you did so, download the older version of the IDE software.
but i think i tried already
now its worss because i wont even let me download it
do you get the other version off the basic micro website?
For the Basic ATOM, the v5.3.0.1 with the recent patch works just fine. I haven’t got any experience with the ATOM PRO yet, but that is coming soon.

yes you do. Trust me the same thing happened to me. If you downloaded the BETA version by accident, just click on the download below.
Oh, well for me it didnt work, there may have been some errors when I downloaded it though, but when I downloaded the older version it worked great. Anyways, I think the older version is a little easier to use inmo.
We are going to need some much more specific information about your problem before we can help you with this.
What specifically is happening?
Are you getting any error messages and what are they?
What specifically is not working?
Will the IDE communicate with the Basic ATOM at all?
Do you have the com port settings the same for both PC and the IDE?
What version of the IDE are you using?
The more details you can give us, the more chance we have of helping you.

the problem is at first the ps2 transmitter/reciever was working good
end then it just stopped recieving signals
i tried changing batteries i tried reprogramming it
and it still didn’t work so then i just gave up on it
i started practicing programming it with very simple
programms and then i could not communicate
with it and thats the problem
so how would software have anything to do
with the fact with the ps2 controller isn’t recieving signals
what is the beta version
because i have the ide aleady
