Basic atom compatable with basic stamp editor?

Is the Basic Atom microcontroller compatable with a basic stamp editor? I have a mac so the Basic micro editor doesn’t work.

Sorry I really don’t think that will work. While the basic languages are very similiar they use different compilers and the like.

What I don’t know is if the Basic Micro Studio program will run within a windows emulator on the MAC.

Will lynxmotion ship the tri-track kit with the basic stamp? and will the ps2 control code still work?

This is a question better answered by Lynxmotion. They are normally off on the weekend so it will probably be at least Monday before they respond.

I know they sell some Basic Stamps and that they will work in a BotBoard2, but I don’t know if the PS2 will work with it or not. I also know you can order the Tri-track without electronics as well.

The PS2 won’t work on the BB2 with the Stamp. There was an inverter on the previous bot board for the Stamp.

Better off getting a BasicAtom or BasicAtomPro

Agree, the Basic Atom Pro is a better choice. The BS2 will work with the PS2 controller if you build a inverter on a bread board or a perf board and use it as an external circuit and connect it to the BB2 that way. If you go the Atom Pro rout, all you have to do is plug in the controller to the BB2 and you’re ready to code.

It may be possible to run Basic Micro Studio on your Mac using something like VMWare. There’s a little bit of information on that here: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4242

I’ve been running the demo version of Parallels 5 for the past two weeks. Everything appears to be working correctly. Since Parallels 5 is actually running the PC as a virtual machine it’s basically the same as running on a regular Windows PC(assuming you are using an Intel based Mac). The only problems I’ve had with it were printer drivers on the virtual Windows PC don’t seem to work for me. If you are using an older PowerPC one I don’t know if any of the emulators for PCs on those will work with BasicMicroStudio.
