I purchased these motors and have two questions
1 a what can I use to extend the shaft or make it easier tonattach something to it.
1 a what is an inexpensive motor controller I can use to control the speed of two of these motor ms simultaneously.
Thanks
Josr
Hi Josr,
You can use a “hub” to attach something to the motor but usually those motors are fitted with gears for a gearbox.
The output shaft is 3.2mm which is not really standard for a “hub” but you might be able to drill the Actobotics 3mm.
As for the motor controller, it will depend on the type of control you need.
How are you going to be sending the speed signal ? (Serial / RC / Analog / other)

Thanks for the insight. Regarding the controller, I intend to send 12 V wired from an external 12V power supply. I would ideally want to control via RC, but feel I don’t have time to implement. If you have a simple solution for RC i would be interested in learning how to do that.

Hi José,
Might not know how much you will draw in current but either a Sabertooth 2x5 or 2x12 in RC would work.
Sabertooth Dual 5A R/C 6-18V Regenerative Motor Driver (R/C)
Sabertooth Dual 12A 6V-24V R/C Regenerative Motor Driver
The 2x5 will give you a peak of 10A per channel and the 2x12 a peak of 25A per channel.

Great. Now what talks to this device? Is it possible to talk on the phone. This really inefficient.
Jose
Hi José,
We do not offer phone support, you can ask anything here.
The Sabertooth, as you requested is R/C capable so it will have to talk to an R/C device.
