How is the pinion gear for the Banebots P60 gearbox supposed to mount to a 550 motor shaft? I just ordered one and there is no set screw or “D” feature, and the bore is slightly too small for it to even fit onto the motor shaft.

It’s a press fit; you need to press the pinion gear onto the motor’s shaft. Be sure not to move the shaft itself - for example place the motor so the rear shaft touches a solid / hard surface and then press the gear on.
Ah. That’s too bad…it’s a tough press fit to do without a special rig. For anyone else attempting this, put the motor in the freezer and the pinion in the oven before making the press fit…the thermal expansion/compression will make the press easier with less chance of buckling the shaft.
