Balance the rover weight

I’ve installed the 4xAA battery pack at the front bottom of the rover, also mounted a pan-tilt 2 servo motors + Ping))) at the front.

Then the problem comes: almost all the weight is at the front, and the rear motors start making weird noise… I observed that it’s because the whole rover is leaning to the front, and the rear motor drive can’t really convey its power…

I guess this design is common, but how could any one share how to balance the weight? thanks!

The DFRobotShop Rover Expansion Plate adds more mechanical connection points which more easily allows you to distribute the weight. There’s a spot for a Pan/Tilt at the front and you can mount the battery pack at the rear. You can alternatively make a small plate which attaches to the rear screws to move the battery pack to the rear.
