Baby-Bot

I like to work on multiple robots at one time (it gives me time to plan features/programming for the other robots.)

This little bot is a quick build on a single CD with a minimum of everything! I ran out of double sided foam tape so nursing tape works (just not as well).

The bot is autonomous and drive by a Uno32 in Arduino C/C++ "sketch" mode (one of my current favorite ways of programming bots.)

I didn't have a lot of room for a H-Bridge (L293) chip so each motor is being driven off 2 2N3904 transistors in parallel (emitter follower configuration). The transistors stay nice and cool and the robot has some speed to it, so I can't complain. (Actually, forward and forward-spin maneuvers are working better than I expected and it is a decent little bot!)

I am using the "gear-oxygen tubing" wheels again and on this little bot. They seem to produce enough traction on even a waxed wooden floor and the bot can "turn on a dime".

A single rechargeable 9V battery is NOT the optimal power supply for this little bot, but anything else produces to much weight which degrades the performance of the bot. In this case it isn't a bad solution for a small-light bot.
