Hello guys, I have built a prototype of an artificial horizon and I am looking for a gyroscope that can work in an environment subject to vibrations and that it is capable of determining the attitude of the aircraft, I have tried with the classic MPU-6050 and the instrument works perfectly at home (of course) but in real tests it goes crazy and offers no valid outputs.
greetings to all
If you’re using a MEMS gyro, it will be subjected to vibrations and you’ll need to use software filtering (ex. Kalman filter). You should also try to mechanically dampen the electronics (rubber or other active dampening). You can also try flywheel stabilization.
Thank you for your response, is there any other kind or gyro diferent to MEMS more adecuate for my proyect?
Nothing in particular comes to mind. Without spending too long brainstorming, mechanical dampening and adding a compass should help, but don’t know how much vibration you have or what the application is. You’d need to read the detailed specifications sheet for every sensor you consider.
i will work with your advices.
