I would recommend you to use a ‘‘line-following’’ system instead of magnetic detection.

There is already plenty of line-following IR sensors available: https://www.robotshop.com/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=line+follow+sensor&order=relevance&dir=desc

I just realized you need this settings for an autonomous chair.

This mean you will need a platform that can support a payload of at least the weight of a human person.

Note that you will also need wheels that can support the same payload and more to support the weight of the battery and the chair itself.

i think we cant draw the line on the floor. its a museum so ther specification says a magnetic strip following bot
